Growing with Our Readers: Enhancing the Teen Room & Library Spaces

A library is more than a place for books—it’s a place to gather, explore, and grow. Thanks to the generosity of our members and donors, Friends of the Library – Rourk Branch continues to invest in making the Rourk Library a more welcoming, functional, and fun place for all ages.

One of our most exciting ongoing projects is helping Rourk Library furnish the Teen Room, a dedicated space where teens can read, study, and connect with others. Recent additions include:

• Stylish pub-style tables and barstool chairs

• A Demco rocker chair for relaxed reading

• A 32” digital screen and wall-mounted TV bracket

• A Nintendo Switch with popular games, extra controllers, and esports programming

  
  

🧩 We’re also supporting enrichment throughout the rest of the library. Our recent contributions include:

• A large whiteboard and magnetic board for the meeting room

• Storytime supplies (including Kleenex, tape, and laminating pockets)

• Educational items like Legos and supplies for themed events like “Legos and Eggos”

• Easter egg hunt materials

• Extension cords, marker boards, and more—ensuring staff and patrons alike have what they need

  
  

It’s through the power of community giving, Friendship dues and donations that these enhancements are possible. Together, we’re transforming Rourk Library into a space that reflects the creativity and curiosity of those who use it every day.
